BACKGROUND

Tim Savageaux joined Northland in 2015 is focused on enabling component, IC and systems level technologies for high speed optical, wireless and broadband access networks built by Communications Service Providers and Cloud Service Providers. Key areas of focus include high speed optical connectivity for AI data centers and metro, long haul and sub sea transport networks as well as broadband access networking technologies including fiber, fixed wireless, cable and satellite. Adjacencies include applications of photonic technologies in areas such as 3D Sensing, LIDAR, industrial and defense markets. Tim began his research career at JP Morgan in New York and joined Robertson Stephens in San Francisco in 1996. Over the next two decades, Tim served in senior research and management roles at Volpe Brown Whelan, WR Hambrecht, and Merriman Curhan Ford, where he was also Director of Research, in addition to founding independent research and advisory firm Terrapin Research and Management.

Sector Description: AI Data Center Infrastructure, Fiber, Cable, Satellite and Fixed Wireless Broadband Access and Backhaul Networks, Enabling IC and Optical Component Technologies, Rural Broadband Networks and Service Providers. Photonic Technologies enabling optical sensing, LIDAR, industrial and defense applications.

EDUCATION

Tim has an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Maryland.

Tim holds and maintains the FINRA SIE Securities Industry Essentials, Series 7 General Securities Representative, Series 24 General Securities Principal, Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law, and Series 86/87 Research Analyst registrations.
